Every year, World Mental Health Day takes place with an objective to quash social stigmas, boost advocacy and educate the world about the importance of mental wellbeing. This year’s event takes place on Sunday 10th October and to coincide, Canon UK & Ireland has launched a new initiative which uses the power of print to communicate this important cause.
With research highlighting that mental wellbeing can be enhanced by taking some time out to do something creative, Canon has designed an eye-catching colouring book, featuring powerful messaging about World Mental Health Day. The asset encourages recipients to take a break, relax and destress – whilst spending a moment to think about their own wellbeing.
Printed on Canon’s award-winning Canon imagePRESS C10010VP device, this vibrant booklet has been sent to over 1,000 Print Service Providers in the Graphic Arts sectors to encourage them to get involved with the annual event.
The book also aims to highlight that printing is not limited to only a functional purpose and can instead serve a greater cause. It is hoped that through the asset, PSPs and their customers will be inspired to use print in a more creative way, whilst showing that marketing campaigns, where print complements digital communications can deliver greater impact.
The book is supported by a campaign landing page, where more information about the activity and World Mental Health Day can be found. The landing page also features a downloadable version of the colouring book and a video which showcases how the asset was printed.
Recipients of the book will be encouraged to share their creations on social media and join the global conversation by using the hashtags #MakeitMINDFUL and #WorldMentalHealthDay to help raise awareness.
