What is PIXMA Print Plan?

PIXMA Print Plan is a print subscription service. You can choose from several flexible monthly plans based on the number of pages you print, which automatically sends the correct inks directly to your door when you’re getting low. Exclusively available for selected PIXMA Printers, users can adapt the plan based on use and rollover allocated pages if needed, resulting in a truly flexible, cost-effective and hassle-free way to manage your inks.

  • PIXMA Print Plan is a subscription service based on the number of pages you print not the cost of the ink cartridges you use. Depending on your expected monthly print needs you select the appropriate plan for you. You only pay for the fixed monthly cost of your plan and any overage costs. You don’t pay for inks or their delivery cost as this is all included in your monthly plan fees.
    Once you’ve signed up for this service, we will send you a welcome pack with subscription-compatible inks. Going forward, whenever your printer starts running low, we’ll automatically send you replacement ink, meaning you’ll never run out. At the end of each month, any unused pages will be rolled over to the following month, giving you extra pages to print.

  • Once you’ve been enrolled on a PIXMA Print Plan, you have complete control over your subscription through your Canon account. You can check your print usage, see billing, and upgrade, downgrade or cancel your subscription.

  • Yes, you can upgrade and downgrade your plan.You can change your enrolment and selection ofyour PIXMA Print Plan through your Canon account. An upgrade to your PIXMA Print Plan (increase the number of included pages per month) is effective straight away. A downgrade (decrease the number of included pages per month) will be effective at the end of your current billing period after you have made the subscription change.

  • No, with the PIXMA Print Plan we will monitor your usage and ink levels. New PIXMA Print Plan ink cartridge(s) will be provided as your ink level gets lower and the printer will prompt you when to change the cartridge(s). There is no need to order or lookup the cartridge type.
    You must keep your PIXMA Print Plan printer connected to the internet so that your printer’s ink levels are consistently monitored.
    The PIXMA Print Plan cartridges are ink cartridges specifically designed for PIXMA Print Plan printers and they will not work in non-PIXMA Print Plan printers (for a list of eligible printers, see the PIXMA Print Plan printers overview page).


    PIXMA Print Plan cartridges only work while subscribed to a PIXMA Print Plan, see terms of service for specification and cartridge restriction.

  • To enrol in the PIXMA Print Plan service and maintain your subscription, there are a few requirements: You need to check your printer’s eligibility. Only select PIXMA print models are supported. For a full list of eligible printers visit the PIXMA Print Plan printer overview page.
    You need to have a valid payment method and an active e-mail address.
    Your printer must be connected to the internet and the auto-powered-on setting must be enabled for your ink levels to be monitored.
    You need to keep your billing and shipping address up to date in your Canon account so that we can deliver your PIXMA Print Plan ink cartridges.

  • You’ll only pay the fixed monthly cost of your plan plus overage costs of € 0.10 for every page printed outside of your allowance. For details, see the PIXMA Print Plan product page.

    You can rollover unused pages for one month. For example, if for one month you use 55 pages of your 60 page plan, you’ll be entitled to 65 pages the following month. If, in a separate month you use 62 pages, you’ll be charged an additional € 0.20.

  • No, Canon will not be able to see what you’ve printed. We will only monitor your print usage so that we can send you ink whenever you start running low, based on the plan you choose.

  • Yes, you can cancel your print plan at any time as there are no long term or yearly contracts. However, your subscription will finish at the end of your current billing period. Simply log in to your Canon account and click on ‘Subscriptions’. Next, select your subscription then click on ‘Settings’. Scroll down the page then click on the Cancel Subscription button. Once you’ve cancelled your print plan, you can still use your printer, but to print you will need to buy non-subscription inks.

  • Auto-Ink Delivery automatically sends you ink whenever your printer starts running low, so you are only paying for inks as and when you order them. With PIXMA Print Plan you only pay for the number of pages you print based on the plan you choose, and get ink delivered to your home based on your printing usage.

  • All pages printed on your PIXMA Print Plan printer, regardless of size or ink coverage, are considered as one printed page. Printing on both sides of the page will be counted as two pages.

  • Each month you can print a set number of pages according to your plan. Any unused pages that you do not print, are then rolled over to the following month. If you find that you keep having unused pages, you may need to change your plan.

  • All your account information can be reviewed and managed in your Canon account. You will be able to track your printed pages and billing information as well as make changes to your account.

  • No. You cannot enrol your PIXMA Print Plan printer in both services. The same printer cannot be associated with two services or accounts.

  • If you have recently subscribed to a PIXMA Print Plan, firstly you must activate your printer with your current cartridges (e.g. starter cartridges from the printer box or non-subscription cartridges) before using the print subscription cartridges. Follow the steps on the activation page to activate the service, then you can start using the subscription cartridges. If you do not have the starter cartridges or non-subscription cartridges for activation, please contact customer support. Note that you can still keep using your own non-subscription cartridges regardless of the service activation status.

  • The printer is unable to check the status of your subscription cartridges to keep running the service. Make sure that the printer is connected to the Internet. If you need help, please follow the instructions on the printer web manual.
