The EOS R6 Mark II offers a little more, and can focus on humans (each eye, face, head and body), animals (including dogs, cats, birds and horses), and vehicles (including cars, bikes, aircraft and trains) from 1053 automatic AF areas and a slightly fewer 4897 selectable positions.

Verdict: Both use top-of-the-range, deep learning autofocus that delivers all of the focus without losing quality. The EOS R6 Mark II can recognise more subjects while the EOS R5 can focus on more selectable positions.
